I just posted this on Nextdoor for my area and for all of New York State. I would like to get this out to everyone.

As you may have seen on the news, Watertown hit a tie for the highest temperature on record on May 13th of this year. At that time, Lowville hit 89 degrees. It is very possible that the North Country or anywhere in New York State will reach record highs this summer.

Last year, many people died in the Northwestern United States and in Western Canada. A few years earlier, many people died in Chicago due to high heat. I want to prevent this happening here if the temperatures soar. Today’s high will be 91 degrees in my area.

In the military, a Heat Condition Two is set when the WBGT (Wet Bulb Globe Temperature) which is a very accurate measure of heat, is between 85.0°F — 87.9°F and a yellow flag is flown to indicate this condition. Then, military members cannot perform strenuous duties or exercise outdoors. So, having lived in very warm places, I would like to give a few words of advice. There are several things that you can do to be safe in the heat.

First, don’t exercise outside if the temperature is over 91.4 degrees according to medical experts. I would not even do so with temperatures that high. My advice is that if you exercise outside, do so in the early morning or late evening when the sun is not…
