I have to ask you whether you believe that scripture should be used to defeat satan. No, we don't want to defeat people or use scripture to win debates but we do want to use scripture to fight back against evil. The people who have only seen satan's lies must be made aware of the scriptures that speak of the teachings of Jesus. I would place this with rebuking satan. This is to save souls from hell by bringing people to the truth of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was tempted by satan in Luke 4:1-13 and the other Gospels, satan used scripture to attempt to cause Jesus to worship him. Jesus used scripture to tell satan that his recitations were wrong. I believe that we have a duty to explain the scriptures as Jesus spoke them. This is not to attempt to win a debate. This is an attempt to bring people to Jesus.
