I would like to agree and disagree with you.

First, the Bible isn't the inerrant word of God. Jesus said so. Jesus explained what actually was from God and what was not from God but from men. That is exactly what He was teaching. He was in Israel teaching Jews. So, he told them what was from God in the Hebrew scriptures and what was from men, not God, in the Hebrew scriptures. He was teaching the right way to know God. When churches cherry pick hateful passages in the Old Testament, they are not teaching what Jesus taught and commanded. They are teaching the viewpoints of men and going against Jesus.

Second, churches. There should not be denominations. They are a schism in the true church which is the body of Christ, all true believers in and followers of Jesus. If everyone understood what Jesus taught and just explained it to others, there would be no denominations, just places where Christians meet to worship and commune with God together. Denominations teach men's desired teachings, not true Christianity.

Third, because of all of this, please don't believe that God is evil. That was the evil of the church that you went to. It wasn't God. God is love and God is there to love and help you in every way if you just choose to know God. God does act in this world. My life is miraculous because of God and I was an atheist for my first forty years until God came into my life powerfully.

As I told you, God is love. Let me give the definition of love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

And, trust me, I am fully awake. I even prove the existence of God scientifically to atheists because God ensured that I learned physics. God was always in my life and acting so that I could gain wisdom even though I ignored His signs for many years.

If you want to be an atheist, that is up to you but don't blame God, blame man who is often directed by evil.

If you want to know the truth of God, read the four Gospels then compare everything else in the Bible to Jesus' teachings. Jesus got everything right. Everything that Jesus taught was good for all of mankind. If mankind had followed His teachings, we would not have global warming, poverty, violence, hatred toward LGTBQ+ people or any of the other severe problems that we now have. We would, instead, be living in Utopia. It is because man decided everything based on his selfishness, greed and hateful heart that our world is as it is. And that selfishness, greed and hatefulness goes on in most churches. They aren't teaching the truth of God but the lies of the enemy of God.

Know that anything that isn't coming from a place of love isn't coming from God because God is pure love.
