Might I explain that science has proven that men have a sexual thought every seven seconds. Many men act on these thoughts in ways that are disrespectful to women. I know this because I spent many years in the great United States Navy in a rate (MOS) that was predominantly male. I got to see the male gender in action. We also still live in a predominantly patriarchal society. I see this all of the time. No, it isn't all men but as the old saying goes, a good man is hard to find. I am a feminist in the fact that I completely believe that I am equal to any man and have the right to be so simply because we are all human beings. I should not have to answer to a man or be in anyway abused by a man simply because he is a man and I am not. All human beings should be on equal footing. The problem is that we usually aren't.
