Religion does but spirituality doesn't. That is the problem with Christianity. Most people who call themselves Christians completely avoid following the teachings of Jesus.

Matthew 15:8-9

8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,

but their hearts are far from me.

9 They worship me in vain;

their teachings are merely human rules.’”

This is why you see Christians the way you do. These people are not actually Christians because they don't follow Jesus. They just use the name to gain power and wealth.
