Yes, Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself, that everyone is your neighbor and to love God with all of your heart, soul and mind. I think part of the problem is that people distinguish between Jesus and the God of all mankind. Over and over, Jesus spoke of the Father, not Himself. He said that He was speaking what the Father told Him to speak. Yet, many people who believe that they are Christians believe that they are above others instead of with others because they don't recognize the God of all mankind. That is where this horrible viewpoint of others starts.
