You are lumping Christians in with "Christians". There is a distinct difference between the two. Christians follow the teachings of Jesus and have a heart for others. "Christians", on the other hand, don't follow the teachings of Jesus and don't a heart for others. Everything that you described was "Christians", not Christians.

Might I explain that God is love.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
